Friday 30 October 2020  Despite restrictions, Camden still has Halloween wrapped up. Find out what's happening, with your weekly what's on guide from Camdenist.com

   Hit the snail mail trail

Camden's much-loved Postal Museum made a welcome return this week with a few fun tweaks to keep the experience interactive in the age of social distancing. A celebration of the world's original social network - they have enough on offer to keep everyone happy, including an exhibition exploring the post office's role in solving the historic Great Train Robbery, a spooky Halloween Where's Wally museum search for kids plus. with the cramped trains necessarily out of action, there's the rare chance to take an underground walking tour of the fascinating 100-year-old Mail Rail tunnels.

 Spooky (boozy) screenings

Ever been to Regent Street Cinema? Opened in 1848, this classy venue was the first cinema to ever show a motion picture in the UK, and is still well worth a visit today. Over the next week, they're offering discounts on seasonal cocktails - Creepy Shirley Temples and Halloween French Martinis - for anyone buying a ticket to one of their spooky screenings. Films include cult classics such as The Exorcist and Hocus Pocus. If you don't fancy a fright, then opt for Idiot Prayer - Nick Cave Alone at Alexandra Palace, to see a stripped back performance recorded during lockdown from the vampiric maestro.

 All aboard... a murder mystery

If you've always fancied taking a leisurely boat trip along the canals of North London and like fine food and wine, floating seafood experts

London Shell Co.

can surely provide. There's only one problem - there appears to have been a grisly murder.

Kicking off on Halloween, they'll be conducting a whole month of

aboard their travelling barge The Prince Regent. Book a table for your bubble, enjoy a five course meal and take in the iconic sights of London Zoo and the Maida Hill Tunnel at night, whilst cracking the case of just who on board has committed the deadly deed...everyone is a suspect!

 Guilty Feminists unite

Fans of chart-topping podcast The Guilty Feminist are in for a treat, as Kings Place is once again set to host Deborah Frances-White as she records her upcoming shows in front of a live audience. Grab a ticket to catch the award-winning writer and comedian in discussion with an always-entertaining panel of celebrity guests, as they unpick topics that all 21st century feminists broadly agree on, whilst confessing the insecurities, hypocrisies and fears that underlie them.

 More Ricky Gervais in NW5

If you missed out on the chance to catch to Ricky Gervais' warm-up show at Kentish Town's O2 Forum this week then never fear - it's been announced that he's back for two more gigs (on Tuesday 3 and 10 November), and tickets go on sale at 10am this morning. The Comedy Store's socially distanced gigs from heavy hitters continue at Forum into December, so keep an eye out for further announcements, too.
