 Support Guy Gold...and yourself

"Lockdown has had a huge impact on our bodies and how we look after ourselves," says Guy Gold, the Camden Town-based Osteopath who has just launched a new purpose-built Performance Centre in Kentish Town, too. Operating a fully Covid-secure practice, his team can help with everything from back pain to keeping you in tip top shape while your usual gym routine isn't possible.

by placing your physical health into expert hands.

 Livestream tonight: headscarf history

The ongoing Camden Black History Season continues tonight with a free online event celebrating the complex history of turbans, headties and headwraps. Sign up for the workshop exploring the cultural significance of head scarves and the origin and significance of the fabrics used, followed by a screening of the film 'Wax' plus a Q&A with the director.

   Shop local: lockdown crafts

If you’re planning on some crafty lockdown projects this month then remember you can support local business at the same time. Kentish Town Road's family-run The London Bead Co has been trading in the borough for nearly 30 years and has been a mainstay of the high street whilst so many other businesses have come and gone around them. Check out their website for a plethora of craft supplies, and you can even drop by to see them in person thanks to their collection service.

Camdenist tip: We've teamed up with the fantastic Camden History Society to bring you stories of the borough through the years, with extracts from their archive of newsletters stretching back 50 years. Today, read local author Gillian Tindall's 1974 account of 399 Kentish Town Rd, currently home to The London Bead Co (above) but previously renowned for decades as local stationers Bishop & Hamilton.
