THEATRE: WIN tickets to Everything Has Changed

Euston's

New Diorama Theatre

is hosting an essential, fast-moving summer holiday show for young families this month.

Everything Has Changed

reflects the chaos and disruption of the COVID era, and gives 7-11-year-olds the space to share their hopes for the future. Award-winning theatre company Rhum + Clay have worked in consultation with a child psychologist to create a musical adventure looking at why change happens, and how we can deal with it. We have 2 prizes of groups of 4 tickets up for grabs. Simply email [email protected] with the subject line "I want free theatre tickets!" and we'll draw two prize winners at random on Wednesday (11th). The show takes place on Friday 20th August at 1pm, or Saturday 21st at 11am. Info and tickets are here.

EXPLORE: Classic cars & classical music

Coal Drops Yard

in King's Cross is doing a very good job of convincing locals that this summer staycation lark really ain't too bad at all. This weekend sees the return of the lively

Classic Car Boot Sale

, where vintage vehicles brimming with fashion, homeware, vinyl and jewellery combine with music and street food for a two-day bonanza of bargain-hunting. It's also the last chance to catch the

Shotengai Japanese Market

on Lower Stable St, which celebrates the Tokyo Olympics with stalls offering teas, accessories, fashion, stationary and food direct from Japan. Then on Wednesday, the Cubitt Sessions Music Festival kicks off, offering 10-days of totally free concerts ranging from classical to folk, and opera to world music

We're super-excited to be partnering with the world's largest festival of philosophy and music, How The Light Gets In, taking place lster this summer at Kenwood House. In the run up to the event, we'll be profiling some of the brilliant minds who you can hear speakingn there on 18-19 September. This week, Güneş Taylor of the Francis Crick Institute explains her specialist work investigating the genes responsible for sex determination and why she remains hopeful for humankind.

EAT: Eggoland opening at Goodge St

With Eggslut already established on nearby Percy Street, the brand new opening (this Friday) of Eggoland on Tottenham St means Fitzrovia is arguably now London's, er, 'egg district'. The twist here is that founder, Sohail Ahmad, is an Afghan refugee who arrived in the UK aged 12 on the back of a lorry and fought a career as a pro boxer. It also means his new venture is 100% halal, including 'beef bacon', as seen in the signature Wakey Wakey Eggs’N’Baccy (pictured), with various vegan menu options too.

GUIDES: Make the most of staying local

Recording 1-minute voicemail previews of their

Camden Fringe

shows has really captured the imagination of the performers, with over 30 heartfelt messages

. Meanwhile, inspiration for your staycations can be found in our guides to Seven Dials in the West End, Buck Street Market in Camden Town, or the all-weather shopping and dining of St Pancras Station. The guides are packed with hundreds of ideas to investigate this weekend - and all summer long.

THIS WEEK'S ONE-CLICK POLL Camdenist will be starting a series of events starting this autumn, so we'd love to know: which type are you most likely to attend?

LAST WEEK WE ASKED:

Climate change and poor air quality mean we need to reduce driving cars, but what do you think about the policy of blocking off roads to create Low Traffic Neighbourhoods?

With plenty of moaning about LTNs to be casually overheard across the borough right now, it's striking to see these anonymous poll results revealing widespread acceptance of the new road reality. Could these closures soon become like the smoking ban - where we won't quite be able to believe memories of the recent past including rat runs, idling engines at school gates and car-centric street layouts?
