PARTY: The original all-night bender hits 30

Trade

was the trailblazing after-hours gay club that shook up London nightlife back in the 90s. Its thumping sound, hedonistic crowds and striking aesthetic is the stuff of legend. Two years ago it was set to return to York Way's EGG LDN club for a one-off 24-hour party to mark 30 years since it all began (at the now sadly demolished Turnmills). Then the pandemic got in the way, but that only makes this weekend's rescheduled bash that much sweeter. It runs across multiple dancefloors from 6pm Saturday, with new LGBTQ+ party-starters Adonis taking over a room at 10am on Sunday through into the afternoon. Final tickets here ahead of the monster DJ line-up set times and a secret special guest being announced at midnight tonight.

 SHOP: Tom Dixon Warehouse Sale

Furniture and lighting impresario Tom Dixon's warehouse clearance sales were once the stuff of legend, but there hasn't been one for 5 long years. Next Thursday however it's back with a bang, as a 10-day bonanza of bargains kicks off across his lovely King's Cross HQ. You'll get up to 80% off all kinds of products, with accessories starting from only £10. It's free, but you'll need to get on the list as it's going to be very popular.

 MUSIC: Camden's lightning conductor

After bringing her modern take on the classical concert to Cecil Sharp House last week, we speak to Arch Sinfonia's conductor Chloé van Soeterstède about the story behind the orchestra, how they're breaking down the wall between artists and the audience, and what it really feels like to stand on that podium. Keep an eye out for their next performance, part of the repertoire for which was decided by an audience vote at the end of the last concert.

KIDS: Half term Heath forest school or sketch salon

Tear the children away from their devices this school break with a few days of den-building, fire-lighting, bushcraft and orienteering care of Urban Outdoors London. Their forest school holiday camp meets Mon-Fri at Parliament Hill before heading off to get muddy. Alternatively, and this one's totally free, The National Gallery is running a family sketching salon Tues-Wed, where kids and their adults alike can take part in an artistic journey of discovery through the galleries.

THIS WEEK'S ONE-CLICK POLL Monday is Valentines. Can you bear it?

LAST WEEK WE ASKED:

Virtual Reality hasn't made much of an impact on the lives of most who were polled...at least so far. However there's certainly plenty of interest in the possibilities of the technology, so let's see what happens as the headsets get less clunky and come down in price. Perhaps we'll see you in the Camden metaverse soon...
