See the 10th floor cocktail bar that just opened in King's Cross

DRINK: Nootropic cocktails on the 10th floor

Euston Road's hot hotel

The Standard

do like to keep things fresh. After their summer sensation of the rooftop terrace (reopening for a new season very soon), they've just added a swish 70s-opulent cocktail bar and DJ party spot up on the 10th floor.

Sweeties

is the name, where alongside the lux finish and the panoramic views, the schtick is

. These carefully-mixed concoctions include ingredients that are said to improve mental wellbeing and cognitive function, such as the

Crystal Healing

cocktail (featuring spirulina, seaweed distillate, bergamot, coconut ice and pepper dulse) or the

Frothy Boi

(lacto-rhubarb, raspberry, pink pepper, gin and fermented amazake oats). And while evidence for the power of these pricy nootropics leaves a fair bit to be desired, Sweeties does seem to have all the right ingredients for a rather fabulous glam night out.

LISTEN: Voices Radio or a sound bath in Hampstead

Did you know there's a radio station broadcasting live shows from a cute studio in the middle of Lower Stable Street, King's Cross? Voices Radio's many DJs play all genres, Thurs - Sun from 11am-11pm, carrying the electronic music torch from right where lost 90s nightclub The Key once rumbled. The eclectic stream and previous shows can be heard online 24-hours a day, and at weekends you can stop by and grab a drink from their bar including local pale ale from Two Tribes Brewery and low/no alcohol serves from STRYKK. Meanwhile, up the hill it's time to bathe in a whole different type of sound this Sunday at Hampstead's Rosslyn Hill Chapel, where you'll be taken on a guided meditation via gongs, singing bowls and percussive instruments - a moment to really get out of your mind.

EAT: Seasonal menu dine-in at Half Cut

At the end of last year we told you about Half Cut, the new 'gourmet off-license and mini-mart' at the top of York Way. It's a lovely space for a tasting or to pick up some quality groceries and booze to take home. But yesterday they also finally launched a dine-in menu featuring the best seasonal produce. The simple dishes aim to let the ingredients speak for themselves and in-house sommelier Holly is on hand to pair each plate with one of the 80 low-intervention wines in the racks.

VISIT: Curly hair power & IWD in Somers Town

Society often labels curly hair unkempt or unprofessional, but The Curl Talk Project presents an opportunity to celebrate it. A free outdoor photo series in Granary Square, 31 women talk about their experiences of having curly hair and their journeys towards pride and unconditional love. Nearby at Somers Town Youth Centre on Saturday there's a free day of activities for girls aged 8-11 to mark International Women's Day. Take a baking session with Zoe from Flour Baby Bakery amongst the workshops and discussions.

 PRINT: Celebrate the night

We first promised to drop it before Christmas, but Omicron had other ideas. Now, as culture continues to return, we are publishing Camdenist Presents...The Night, a free 24-page magazine available locally and from select outlets across central and East London. With a huge buzz around the return of KOKO, exclusive news of a brand new venue in Chalk Farm, plus a deep dive into the people and places who make the magic happen after dark, it's arriving imminently.

THIS WEEK'S ONE-CLICK POLL With so much of our media consumption these days image and video-led, how often do you tune into a bit of radio?

LAST WEEK WE ASKED:

As the new KOKO (Camden Palace) prepares to open as a world class live music venue on our doorsteps - what do you feel about heading there?

The report of the new live music spaces, restaurants, members club and rooftop certainly got readers excited, but less of you are hell-bent on actually heading down there. We don't think they need to worry though, as the early gigs are selling out super fast.
