Your Friday morning essential read. Five local highlights you really need to know, researched and presented with enthusiasm by the team at Camdenist

DRINK: Happy Easter! 20% off wine at Casa Tua Delizie

Casa Tua Delizie

is the brand new deli from the team behind the two much-loved Italian restaurants bearing the same name in Camden and King's Cross. This week we've been

about the expansion (including the tale behind his signature 'tache), their fresh pasta, gelato, mini pastries, Italian cheese and meats, plus exclusive olive oil and honey direct from his family's farm in Puglia. The deli also has a tasty selection of Sicilian, Tuscan and Puglian wines including vegan and sparkling options, and Giuseppe is offering Camdenist readers

an exclusive 20% off all wine at the deli

, which you'll find couple of doors along from the original restaurant on

Royal College Street

. Just mention 'Camdenist'. The offer is valid until 31st May.

EASTER IN CAMDEN: Your alternative guide

If you're bored of the usual chocolate/church-based Easter weekend pursuits fear not - and check out these ideas. First up, try tonight's extravaganza courtesy of Camden Cabaret at Jamestown Rd's 50s-styled cocktail bar All About Eve. Expect burlesque dancing, magic, drag and stand up from an array of performers including special guest the multi-award winning comedian and Bollywood screenwriter, Anuvab Pal. Then fight off the post-Easter-egg-hunt-slump on Monday with the London Easter 10k fun run in Regent's Park. There's a children's race too, so no excuses, but booking is essential. After that, soak up some soca vibes at Cocoyea's Easter Lime, which kicks off at 4pm on Monday at Dingwall's Canal Bar, where DJ Piper, Che In The Mixx, and DJ Fats (to name a few) will be bringing the energy through into the evening.

VISIT: WIN Classic Car Boot Sale tickets

Across Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard, next weekend (23 & 24 April) The Classic Car Boot Sale brings over 100 market stalls heaving with vintage clothes, retro homeware and vinyl, as well as classic vehicles, ride-ins from Mods and Rockers. You'll find DJs all day long, plus street food, cocktails and craft beer all at the Routemaster bus bar. To celebrate the return of this brilliant event, we're offering one Camdenist reader a prize of 2 x tickets - including food and drink. 😃🍔🍺Simply head over to our Instagram to put your name into the hat to win...

. But this Sunday, in association with their label Spiritual Records, they hit the road, travelling all the way down to

The 100 Club

for the

12th edition of their all-dayer takeover Spring Festival. You'll

from Camden and the label in this most iconic of venues.

NEW: Cocktail joints + Tarantino-themed pizza

The stiff drinks scene across Camden and surrounds is getting stronger, with the opening of a second branch of Old St speakeasy Nightjar just off Carnaby St. The libations come with a side of live jazz every night. Kentish Town institutions Patron & Tabac Bar have just opened Le Cocktail Shop on Holloway Rd, with a 4-6pm happy hour, a sun terrace and pre-mixed bottles for home delivery. Camden's Lost Boys Pizza have also opened True Romance, serving 'big ass pizza by the slice' and signature margaritas at Hawley Wharf, with the slice menu an ode to dark movie master Quentin Tarantino.

THIS WEEK'S ONE-CLICK POLL As the weather warms up and the hardcore year-rounders at the ponds on Hampstead Heath are joined by the sun-basking crowds, what kind of outdoor  swimmer are you?

LAST WEEK WE ASKED:

With controversial tower blocks rising fast or being fiercely fought over across Camden - from Somers Town (Brill Place Tower) to Swiss Cottage (O2 and 100 Avenue Rd redevelopment) & Kentish Town (Murphy's Yard), how do you feel about our neighbourhoods growing upwards?

There's plenty of local kick-back (if you hadn't noticed) to the proposed height of many new developments currently on the table. We have a proud NIMBY voting block, too, but with the view of London's skyline from Parliament Hill already massively changed in recent decades, it does feel like the towers will continue to rise regardless. Perhaps, with stiff opposition, not always in the most extreme forms originally planned.
