 SHOP: Tufnell Park's latest additions

Long renowned for its cleverly curated selection of independent high street shops, Fortess Rd has just seen its offering strengthen even further. Fam Market (painted above c/o @thesecretartistNW5) have upped sticks from the south to the north side of the road, more that doubling their capacity to serve fabulous fresh produce in the process. With their sister branch also a firm destination for weekend Heath walkers up at Swain's Lane, Fam is proving a great local success story that's had residents in raptures. Meanwhile a few doors down, brilliant beer specialists Caps & Taps have relocated from the lower end of Kentish Town Road, bringing back their winning combo of bottles and cans from the world's most exciting breweries, in-store tastings and yes, even the obligatory low and no alcohol bevvies for those currently deep in the midst of a Dry Jan. They deliver for free, too.

 VIDEO: Epic Highgate history stroll

We've highlighted the London walks of Youtube fave John Rogers in the Weekly C-Mail before (when he meandered down the route of the lost local River Fleet). He's back in the 'hood again here with this tour around Highgate, which takes in vampire legends of the Cemetery, famous residents and the many pubs that still characterise the village. Check the comments under the video too, as local buffs add loads more information, too.

THIS WEEK'S ONE-CLICK POLL With the government just having announced the likely road map to the end of all Covid restrictions, where’s your head at?

LAST WEEK WE ASKED:

Conscientious responses from most of you this week, as we've become a nation of Zoom pros. A fair few are more than happy with the limelight (even if they bought it themselves), but with the days of work-from-home mandates potentially over, the biggest - unanswerable - question is how much time we'll actually now spend stuck working and socialising on video calls in 2022...
