Red hot new roof terrace bar 🔥 + your new gym
Five weekly feel-good highlights, including exclusive offers, great reads, videos and inspiring things to do locally in the 'unlockdown'. Prepared with love by the team at Camdenist
DRINK: The Standard rooftop bar is open
Rather than mooch around ruminating on the fact their stunning new hotel was shuttered by Covid, Euston Road's perennial party-starters
The Standard
have been busy creating a big new outdoor bar with panoramic views
on top
of their already stunningly appointed restaurant, Decimo. It opens tomorrow, with bookings essential (for now). With various
wines and cocktails poured by tap, and The Rooftop Dogs served heavy-on-the-toppings from a nifty hotdog station, it must surely be a contender for the hottest outdoor social hangout of this unlockdown summer. The hotel itself reopens on May 17th, and the staycation-inclined amongst us may well be tempted by the special High Standards deal, where a room for the night comes with cocktails and a prime Rooftop table for two.

With the summer still full of uncertainties, Camden's live music circuit isn't roaring back to life quite yet. However green shoots are very much in evidence from mid-May. One of the first is this socially distanced, limited capacity gig at the wonderfully atmospheric St Pancras Old Church, courtesy of Camden Live (tickets & info here) A night of alt rock and folk from
Midori Jaejer, Shake the Geek and Adam Wedd, or check out a whole year of Camden Live streamed gigs on YouTube.

WATCH: Bob Dylan in Camden
One random Wednesday morning back in 1993, Eurythmics frontman Dave Stewart shot footage of Bob Dylan wandering around Camden Lock. It became the video for
Blood in Your Eyes
, from his LP World Gone Wrong. You'll see glimpses of lost landmarks including the Camden Stores pub, Rhythm Records and Compendium bookshop, as Dylan signs autographs. The album cover was also shot that day, at a café now occupied by Max Orient restaurant. Read the full quirky story.
THIS WEEK'S ONE-CLICK POLL As a Monopoly-themed experience prepares to replace Paperchase on Tottenham Court Rd, a Judge Dredd game and an immersive theatre company eye-up chunks of Camden Market, what do you think of this vision for high streets centred around games and experiences?
LAST WEEK WE ASKED:
Pollution is an ongoing challenge in urban environments like Camden's, but how aware are you about the air quality outside your home?
Readers largely registered that pollution levels dipped during the first lockdown and have been climbing back since, but they are quite vague on the impacts and measurements of all this. Things are set to change though, as a new scheme is soon to be announced from our friends at Camden Clean Air Initiative and their tech partners AirLabs. Find out more about their plans for creating 'actionable data' at street level, so we can all understand, monitor and improve our environmental air quality day-to-day.
